Course Content:

Led by Gillian Higgins, Anatomist, BHS Senior Coach, Sports and Remedial Therapist for Horses and Humans, this course is open to horse owners, riders and students. The course will look at the anatomy of the muscular and skeletal system, the importance of posture as well as how to assess and improve it. The course will also look at stretching and pilates-style exercises for horses. These are useful for improving posture, core strength and stability, balance, coordination, physical and mental relaxation, improving performance, reducing muscle tension and stiffness, preparing for exercise or competition and reducing the risk of injury. There will be plenty of hands on participation. You do not need to bring your own horse.

13.15      Demonstration of Pilates Exercises
