Named Poseidon after the ancient Greek God of horses, and fashioned in the style of the head statues of the ancient Greek Gods, this model accurately shows the beauty, power and anatomical accuracy of the horse's head.

Using a real pony skull, Gillian sculpted the soft tissue structures in plasticine before 3D scanning and printing.
 
This 3D printed resin horse head model shows the bony structures as well as the soft tissues, nerves and blood vessels. This detailed sculpture also allows you to visualise some of the more nebulous structures of the head.
 
The hyoid apparatus for example, which gives form to the pharynx, larynx and tongue. It also shows the strong links that the hyoid has to the rest of the body. Gain an insight into the position of the nerves and see the emerging teeth. This accurate model highlights the importance of treating the horse's head with empathy and respect.
 
Poseidon is a spectacular sculpture and anatomical model. It is made of SLA white resin and comes with an optional stand - a transparent mount on a 5mm thick silver acrylic mirror base with a 3mm chamfer edge.
